Serbian Energy Minister Aleksandar Antic stated that the government plans to increase the capacity of 1,000 megawatts of power generation by 2020.

Among them, 500 megawatts of new generation capacity will be renewable energy facilities, including 450 megawatts of wind power facilities.

This year, the Serbian government is expected to connect 48 megawatts of Alibunar wind farms, 105 megawatts of Kovacica wind farms and 100 megawatts of Cibuk wind farms.

"This will have a major impact on our security in the energy sector," said Antic.

In October last year, Antic said that by 2020, renewable energy will account for 27% of total installed capacity, and new wind farms will help achieve this goal.

In January this year, Belgian renewable energy group Elicio stated that it plans to complete the turbine installation of Serbia's 42 MW Alibangar wind farm by September.
