The African Development Bank aims to expand solar energy in the African continent and focuses on developing 10 GW projects in the Sahel.
The African Development Bank is working closely with the International Solar Energy Alliance (ISA). ISA is supporting the Desert Power program and hopes to provide electricity to 250 million Africans.
The two agencies will jointly support the technical assistance and transfer of knowledge in solar energy development and deployment as well as funding off-grid projects.
The ISA was established to raise 1 trillion U.S. dollars of solar energy funds.
